As I sit here, poised to savor a beautifully arranged plate of perfectly poached eggs, a sense of tranquility washes over me. The room is calm, the rain has paused, and I’m filled with happiness.

However, a sudden memory triggers my anxiety

Shortly after my initial energetic upgrade, I was walking across my room when I heard a loud voice say, "You should be a life coach." I spun around, thinking someone was behind me. My heart raced as I realized the voice was in my head. I laughed and said, "That is the last thing I'm interested in."

Even though Syd Banks is no longer with us, the day I met him was a profound experience.

During my morning walk, I listened to The Inside Out Revolution by Michael Neill, which mentioned the Three Principles by Syd Banks, a Canadian Scottish welder. Michael was discussing Syd’s moment of enlightenment and transformational experience when suddenly, it felt like an energetic bolt of lightning surged through the top of my head and into my feet. I stood there trembling and eventually began to cry.

After my 1st Kundalini experience, I "woke up" to an indescribable level of fear, especially in the middle of the night. I now understand this to be the start of my spiritual crisis, which included intense emotional and psychological unrest. Many have had a way worse experience than mine, and if you are, please seek advice from a spiritual teacher or therapist who understands Kundalini.

Remembering my initial Kundalini energy rising will forever make me giggle at the Transformational energy I knew nothing about and the books that described the journey to a "godlike consciousness."

Unknown to me, quieting my mind twice daily for months was relaxing my nervous system, taking me out of the frantic fight-or-flight vibration and allowing something else to emerge.

The beautiful white dove that flew from the flames of our outdoor fire pit as I sat snuggled with my hubby Dave marked the beginning of my awakening. At the time, the illusion felt real. As I watched the small bird emerge, I ducked my head, saying, “What the heck was that?”
